The sun rises at 6 o´clock, as usual, my grandmother went to the church at 5 o'clock with my mom. It was a calm day, something that doesn’t happen often. Nobody expected on 22st February 2002 was the beginning of a new life. It was eleven o'clock at night when my mother's phone rang. The person who was calling told my mom to turn on the television and it was the exact moment when Ernesto Bartolomeu gave the announcement that Jonas Savimbi, the war assassin had been killed by Governmental troops in Moxico Province. This was the longest night ever, with celebrations, crisscrossing the neighborhood, dancing, cheering to celebrate the end of the war and the beginning of a new era.
